For the fifth year in a row, Carroll Gymnastics won first place in the Westminster Fallfest Parade float competition held last week. "The Road to Gold Begins Here" was the title for this year's Olympic-themed float. The red, white, and blue float was decorated with lights, Olympic rings, an Olympic torch, and a podium full of medal-bearing gymnasts. Gymnasts, coaches, and families were all part of the fun. While class gymnasts and families enjoyed riding the float, the competitive team, in their "Road to London" shirts, cartwheeled, tumbled, and even flipped down Westminster's Main Street.
The first place win came with a $250 prize, which Carroll Gymnastics will donate to the Unite for HER program during their participation in the Pink Invitational Meet in West Chester, PA in February. Unite for HER is an organization that provides breast cancer and wellness programs that educate, empower, and restore. Carroll Gymnastics has been serving Carroll County for over 30 years and is located in the Four Seasons Sports Complex on Hampstead-Mexico Road in Hampstead.
