National Kids to Parks Day and Small Fry Triathlon

The City of Westminster Recreation and Parks Department held a “Small Fry Triathlon” on Saturday, May 19 at 11:00 a.m. for children ages 3-6 at Westminster City Park during the National Kids to Parks Day celebration. Kids

ran, “biked” (or “triked”) and “swam” (through the sprinkler) in this fun, friendly competition!

National Kids to Parks Day was celebrated in support of the
National Park Trust, sponsor of National Kids to Parks Day and First Lady Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move Cities and
Towns
initiative.

There were other attractions at Westminster City Park as well, including, bike safety and helmet fit checks, the Westminster Police Department D.A.R.E. officers, Paradise of Fun Children’s FitnessFun Center, Rec on the Move, FREE snowballs. Special appearances were made by the Chick-fil-A Cow and Recky, the mascot of the City of Westminster Recreation and Parks Department.
