Director expects an 82 percent turnout for 2012 election in Carroll County.
The director of the Carroll County Board of Elections said she expects the polls to be busy all day Tuesday.
Gail Carter, director of the board of elections, said she expects around 82 percent turnout among the county's almost 107,000 registered voters.
That compares to the approximately 80 percent of registered voters in Carroll County who voted in the 2008 Presidential Election according to state election data.
Carter said that close to 11,000 Carroll County voters participated in early voting this year.
"Some people say don't go first thing in the morning because everyone is trying to vote before going to work," Carter said. "But it's hard to say with this election. I know we'll be busy all day long."
