Carroll County wants local kids to celebrate summer through history.
Kids are guaranteed to have fun and learn a little something through the county's "super summer passport" program.
The “super summer passport” program is designed for first through eighth grade students and gives families the opportunity to see many interesting sites around Carroll County to learn about our rich local history.
To achieve the “Celebrating America Summer Adventure Award” students must visit at least 12 of the 16 sites which include a library, a Main Street, a fire department, a county park and the Carroll County Farm Museum to name a few.
After completing the Adventure, students should take the passport to the nearest Carroll County Public Library for verification and to receive their reward.
All passports must be received by August 31, 2012 to be eligible.
Celebrating America is a history initiative created by the Board of County Commissioners to promote a greater understanding of American history and historically significant people, events, and places, particularly those within Carroll County, according to a news release.
