Chamber of Commerce Appeals to Young Professionals
The Carroll County Chamber of Commerce introduces Launch Carroll, a new group designed for young professionals.
The Carroll County Chamber of Commerce started Launch Carroll, a new "young professionals group", as a way to engage young people working in local businesses and to bring them together for networking and development activities.
“It’s a way to engage some of the up and coming professionals in the area that might not necessarily be attracted to the typical chamber events," Chamber President Mike McMullin said in a news release. "It’s a way to get them together so they can network with one another, talk about business and share ideas."
The goals of the group include providing networking opportunities for young professionals, stimulating community involvement and volunteerism and offering professional development activities.
Launch Carroll is geared toward the business people in the ages of 21-40, but there is no age limit.
McMullin said “the young and young at heart” are welcome to participate in any events. Professionals in any career or business field can join, even if they are not members of the chamber.
McMullin said he appointed a diverse steering committee of active young chamber members to spearhead the group, selecting representatives from a variety of industries and businesses throughout the community.
The group's kickoff event is scheduled for March 29 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Johansson’s. The networking event is free to attend. For additional information on Launch Carroll or future events visit www.LaunchCarroll.com or contact the Chamber at 410-848-9050.
