City Recreation Department Hosts 'School's Out Fun Day!' on Oct. 19
Not sure what to do with the kids when school is closed on Oct. 19? Westminster's Recreation Department has you covered.
Schools are closed for students on Oct. 19--what will your kids be doing that day?
The City of Westminster Recreation and Parks Department will hold a “School’s Out Fun Day!” on Friday, Oct. 19 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with extended care available from 7 a.m. until 6 p.m.
With schools closed for teacher workshops and businesses still open, some parents may find themselves in need of a place for their children to go for the day. According to a news release, Recreation Program Specialist Robin Cherney developed this program, closely modeled on the department’s successful summer day camp, with crafts, sports, and games intended to keep the kids busy and active throughout the day.
Cherney said that they work to keeps costs reasonable for working parents -- the cost is $20 per child for care from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Extra care is also offered from as early as 7 a.m. until as late as 6 p.m. for just $5 additional for each session.
To enroll your child in the “School’s Out Fun Day!” program, contact the City of Westminster Recreation and Parks office at 410-848-9161.
