Farm Fresh: Carroll County Harvest Dates

What produce can you expect to find at the farmers' market this weekend?

If you've checked out a local farmers' market or produce stand, you know it's the time of the year to get fresh, local fruits and vegetables. Want to know what produce will be harvested next?

The harvest dates below suggest when these fruits and vegetables will be ripe and available for harvest in Carroll County, according to the Carroll County Department of Economic Development agriculture website

Apples: Aug. 15 - Nov. 15

Blackberries: July 10 - Aug. 1

Blueberries: June 20 - Aug. 1

Cantaloupes: July 10 - Sept. 20

Cherries: June 20 - July 20

Grapes: Aug. 15 - Sept. 20

Melons: Aug. 1 - Sept. 20

Nectarines: July 25 - Aug. 25

Peaches: July 15 - Sept. 20

Pears: Aug. 15 - Sept. 30

Plums: July 15 - Sept. 20

Raspberries: May 15 - July 10

Strawberries: May 15 - June 20

Watermelons: July 15 - Aug. 25

Asparagus: April 15 - June 15

Beans (lima): July 20 - Sept. 15

Beans (snap): June 10 - Sept. 15
