Festival of Wreaths Winners Announced

This year 220 holiday wreaths were on display at the Carroll County Arts Center.

The 14th Annual Festival of Wreaths at the Carroll County Arts Center raised $23,444 this year. The funds will help support Arts Council programs and events.

Wreaths were created by 219 talented decorators this year and more than 3,000 visited the event.

The public voted on their favorites and the award winners are as follows:

  • GRAND PRIZE: Magical Mystery Red Christmas Crab by Nick Vincent of Nathan’s Forge
  • Favorite Traditional: Copper Holly by Frank Baylor
  • Favorite Non-Traditional: Disc the Hall by John & Sharon Lindemon
  • Most Unique: Road Rage by Heather and Brad Conn
  • Charity Challenge Audience Favorite:  Reader in a Wreath by Mary Mahoney for Room to Read
  • Charity Challenge Raised the Most: Kinetic Christmas by Roger Miller for Sustainable Living Maryland
  • Au Naturale Award: Pining for Christmas by Rock Masonry
  • Reason for the Season Award:  Greatest Christmas Gift Ever by Janice Contestible
  • Fabulous Fiber Award: Lo How a Rose E’er Blooming by Pat Kohler
  • Best Business Representation: Java Jubilee by Sherri Hosfeld Joseph for Birdies Café
  • Best Use of Recycled Materials:  Restaurants, Recycling, Rejoice by Quantum Internet
  • Marvelous Message Award: Autism Awareness by John David Williston & Bob Nobles
  • Gentleman’s Choice Award: Stone Tree by Tod Manning of Simply Stone
  • Patriotic Award: Salute to Those who Served By Carl & Colleen Rinaldo
  • Year Round Favorite: Sensational Silhouette by Robinson Fair & Emily White
  • Sports Fan Award: Terrific Terps by the Heck Family
  • Tiny Tim Award: Dear Santa by Isabel Ruiz

  • Staff Favorite: Wreathed in Art by the Carroll County Artists Guild

  • Mayor’s Choice Award: 1,000 Gifts by Candy Aaron & The Bookworms
  • President’s Choice Award: Fly Away with Me by Jutz Moreland
  • Director’s Choice Award:  Faux Flowers by Julia Carvalho
