The United Nations and other human rights groups want to know whether Moammar Gadhafi’s death last week constituted a war crime and are calling for an investigation.
There are differing accounts of his death based on shaky, sometimes unfocused videos. According to CNN, one video shows him alive and bleeding and a separate one shows him dead.
Human Rights Watch is among the agencies seeking a probe into Gadhafi’s death.
According to CNN, the National Transitional Council said crossfire from a fight between revoluntionary fighters and loyalists killed Gadhafi, a story human rights groups are disputing.
"When he left the area, he was very much alive," Peter Bouckaert, the group’s emergency director, told CNN. "There's no reason why he should have been subjected to this kind of mob justice."
Weigh in on Gadhafi's death in our poll and in comments.

I heard he tripped and fell down the stairs. How unfortunate. Now back to reality...
Why should we care? Perform a simple Root Cause Analysis here. He was an oppressive dictator who violently squashed any attempt of Democratic reform in his country. There was no negotiating with the man.Overthrow was the only option. And as long as he was alive he would always try to violently take back control where thousands of innocent people would perish. Let's move on from this and focus on feeding the starving in Sudan. That is a million times more important.

We were negotiating with the man and quite successfully I might add. He got rid of his nukes and WMD's. No we don't know who is in charge. Remember the saying " The better the Devil that you know...."

The first thing the new leader did was declare Sharia Law the law of the land. The rebel group was led by men who were trained by Al Queda and the Taliban in Afghanistan. Who knows what is going to happen next.

We will now be dealing with another "Islamic State" likely more like Iran. Per the WashPo: "Abdel Jalil gave prominence to the role of Islamic law in the new Libya. “We are an Islamic state,” he said, and he pledged to get rid of regulations that didn’t conform to Islamic law."

Whatever the outcome, the killing was justified...he was an ANIMAL and had no compassion for anyone. Talk about human rights? He had NONE.
