A head-on car crash Wednesday evening on Rt. 140 at the Carroll County/ Baltimore County line caused the road to be temporarily closed.
Reese Fire Department responded to the call, and according to the website, arrived on scene to find two cars in the middle of the road that had hit head-on.
Officials said the collision occurred at about 5:15 p.m.
Baltimore County units from Station 41 had already arrived and had begun patient care, according to Reese firefighter Christopher Karolenko. Victims were transported to local trauma centers with non-life threatening injuries.
Rescue Squad 9 assisted with the cleanup of the roadway and cleared the road shortly thereafter, according to the Reese website. Units operated on the scene for approximately 30 minutes before turning the scene over to Maryland State Police.
Maryland State Police said they did not have an accident report on file at the time of this posting.

This sort of horrible accident is no stranger to this stretch of MD Rt 140. How many more serious accidents will it take before SHA realizes that this stretch of Rt. 140 needs to lose the suicide lane and be replaced with a traffic controlled median?

How about asking your fellow citizens to slow down to the 50mph limit, Mr. community activist? That's right; the almighty government will cure all ills!

I have to agree that this is a scary stretch of road, especially during evening rush hour in the winter or in the rain.

I agree with Neil Ridgely; however, drivers need to use caution when driving at all times and not be in such a hurry to cause unnecessary accidents.
