Westminster Officially Aglow with Holiday Spirit

Saturday's "Miracle on Main Street" marked the beginning of the holiday season in downtown Westminster.

Main Street was bustling this weekend, first with shoppers supporting Small Business Saturday and then with residents eager to see the third annual electric parade.

The parade Saturday evening kicked off a variety of festive holiday events, including the lighting of the city's Christmas Tree, and Santa visits.

The Westminster Municipal Band played at the tree lighting at Locust Lane. Free hot chocolate was provided by the Gospel Spreading Church of God of Union Bridge.

Santa's Treat was held in the Armory building on Longwell Avenue with games, prizes, crafts and Santa.
