The man is in serious condition following the incident Monday afternoon.
A Lehigh Cement employee is in serious condition Monday evening following a workplace incident in Carroll County, according to a press release from the Carroll County Sheriff's Office.
Shortly after 2 p.m. Monday, Carroll County Sheriff's Deputies responded to reports of an injured man at Lehigh Portland Cement Company at 675 Quaker Hill Road in Union Bridge, MD.
Steve Fleming, 46, was repairing monitoring equipment underneath a conveyer belt located in the yard area when a skid loader reportedly backed over him, according to a Carroll County Sheriff's Office press release.
Fleming was taken to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore where he was listed in serious condition.
Sheriff's investigators, along with the Maryland Occupational Safety and Health Administration are examining the events leading to the workplace accident. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Deputy Mike Fitzgerald of the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office at 410-386-2900.
