Local Wineries Fare Well in Governor's Cup
Seven local wineries won awards in the annual statewide competition.
Wines from the 28th annual Maryland Wine Festival, in the Carroll County Farm Museum, where thousands experienced Maryland's wines.

The results of the 24th Annual Governor’s Cup Competition were recently announced and several local wineries brought home the gold (and the silver and the bronze).

Judges awarded 23 gold, 40 silver and 35 bronze medals to wines during the full-day event held in Timonium. Full results can be found on MarylandWine.com.
The following local wineries walked away with accolades and awards.

Many of these award winning wineries and more will be showing off their wares at the 29th Annual Maryland Wine Festival at the Carroll County Farm Museum on Sept. 15-16. Tickets are $27 in advance and $30 at the gate.

I didn't get to attend any local winery events this summer but I know they have events (live music, festivals, tastings) through the fall. Do you know of any good winery events -- aside from the Wine Festival of course?

Cygnus does a wine and cheese tasting in Feb. or March.
