Carroll County, we're not showing well in Patch's national Deck Your House holiday contest. I've seen some awesomely decorated homes in Westminster and the surrounding area and all you have to do is take a picture of your festive home and upload it to enter into this pretty cool contest.

To make it even more enticing (although I don't know what is more enticing than $500 towards your electric bill and $100,000 towards a local school project) I will buy lunch for the first two people who upload their photos to the Deck the House contest.

If nothing else, do it so Westminster Patch doesn't have to be in the NO ENTRIES list that all Patch editors will see. Save me some face, c'mon, help a girl out.

This is a great way to celebrate the holidays and to show off all the work you do in making your house so fun to look at.

Here’s how the contest works. Beginning on Dec. 8 and continuing through Dec. 26, you can nominate your home by uploading a photo to the contest entry form on the site. During that same time period you and your neighbors will also be able to vote for your favorite festive home. The winning entry will be forwarded to a national Patch judge that will select 24 finalists. Each finalist will receive $500 that they can apply to their December electric bill.

From Dec. 30 through Jan. 8 you will be able to vote for the Best Decked House in all of Patch. The grand prize winner’s school district will receive a $100,000 check from Patch.
