McDaniel jumped out to a 12-2 lead with 9:01 to play in the third quarter en route to a 13-9 victory over Marywood to claim to the 2012 ECAC Mid-Atlantic men's lacrosse championship on Sunday.

DJ Rickels (Forest Hill, Md./Boys Latin School of Maryland) led the offense for the Green Terror (11-7) with four goals and two assists while JS Duke (Fort Washington, Pa./Upper Dublin) added three goals and two assists. Brad Motley (Fallston, Md./Fallston) made nine saves in the first 48 minutes to earn tournament most outstanding player.

Riley Dobel led the Pacers (10-8) with four goals.

After Duke hit Pat Bivons (Cockeysville, Md./Loyola Blakefield) with 9:12 to play in the opening quarter, Sam Trill responded just 2:08 later to knot the game but then McDaniel ran off six straight goals to open up a 7-1 lead with 2:08 remaining in the first half.

Rickels and Duke each scored twice during the run while Bivons added his second of the game to open second-quarter scoring just 1:55 into the period, making it a 5-1 game at that point.

Dobel momentarily halted the run with 1:59 showing but Rickels tallied man-up to stretch the lead back to six just 47 seconds before the break.

A Rickels goal 58 seconds into the third quarter and a Duke score 2:26 later stretched the lead to 10-2 before Sean Brett (Hamilton, N.J./Notre Dame) and Skippy Clary (Baltimore, Md./Catonsville) made it a 10-goal game with 9:01 showing.

Back-to-back Dobel tallies just 57 seconds apart closed the deficit to 12-5 but Bivons completed his hat trick with 3:49 on the clock before a goal and two assists from Dylan Swope allowed Marywood to close the game on a 4-0 run.
