Nestle USA has voluntarily recalled three sizes of the product due to possible salmonella contamination.
Nestle USA has announced a voluntary recall of Nesquik chocolate powder canisters due to possible salmonella contamination, according to a press release.
Although there have been no reported incidents of illness related to the product, Nesquik stated they decided on the voluntary recall after one of their suppliers, Omya, Inc., issued several recalls due to the possible presence of salmonella in their calcium carbonate.
The recalled canisters were produced in Oct. 2012 and distributed nationally with an expiration date of Best Before Oct. 2014, states the release. According to Nesquik, the chocolate powder in the 10.9, 21.8 and 40.7 ounce canisters are the only products affected.

This Nesquik recall comes after two other recent recalls. Kellogg's recalled some varities of their Frosted Mini-Wheats in October, and there was a large peanut butter recall that same month.
