At approximately 1:05 a.m. April 28, Carroll County sheriff’s deputies responded to reports of a motor vehicle accident in the 1900 Block of Nicodemus Road. 

The sheriff's office says the driver of a 2006 Ford F-250 truck, Adriana Maria Passaretti of Sykesville, died after being taken to the University of Maryland Hospital. Passenger Kristopher Lee Myers, 23, of Union Bridge, was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said the truck failed to negotiate a curve, where it crossed the double yellow lane divider and left the roadway, striking several trees.
