According to the Carroll County Public Schools website, there are 367 buses serving Carroll County school children between regular education, special education and spare buses. Carroll County school buses travel 5.3 million miles annually to deliver our children safely to and from school.
Last year, did you know the name of your child's bus driver and/or did you ever have a conversation with him or her? Tell us in comments, how friendly are you with your child's bus driver?
A preliminary bus schedule, including bus routes and times, is available on the CCPS website. As you are planning for the first day of school on Aug. 27, be sure to check out the bus schedule to ensure you know where your kids will be picked up and at what time.
According to the CCPS transportation department, many bus drivers will be driving new routes which means new faces and new roads. You can help by being on time and prepared the first day of school.
In a newsletter to CCPS transportation employees, it is noted that a child who rides the bus every day to and from school will interact with a bus driver 360 times a year and 4,680 times over the course of his or her 13-year education.
