Propane Truck Goes Pretty In Pink For A Cause

A propane truck gets a dainty new look to raise awareness about breast cancer.

This is one make-over that doesn’t involve Oprah, make-up, weight loss or even women, for that matter.

Instead it involves a propane delivery truck and an important cause.

In honor of the American Breast Cancer Foundation, a Tevis Propane LLC delivery truck has gone through a dramatic make-over from blue to pink, while on its side is painted the iconic breast cancer pink ribbon.

This is the first year the company has gone pink for the cause. In addition, company employees were given pink shirts to wear once a month to raise awareness about breast cancer.

“Not only is this pink propane truck sure to turn heads on area roadways, for every gallon of propane it delivers to area homes and businesses, Tevis Propane will make a donation to the American Breast Cancer Foundation,” the Tevis press release stated.

The truck “paint-over” was completed Aug. 1.

“Our first pink delivery was Aug. 12,” said Alayne Kerbert, marketing specialist for Tevis Energy and Tevis Propane. She added that the truck will stay pink for at least three years.

“Propane companies all over the country are doing it. It’s kind of a wave sweeping the nation and Tevis is really happy to be a part of it,” Kerbert said.

When asked how reaction from customers has been, she replied, “Awesome. Just awesome. We do have some people who request the pink truck. Our customers and the public just love it.”

Through their Key to Life program, the American Breast Cancer Foundation provides direct financial assistance to uninsured or underserved individuals for the screening, diagnosis, and treatment of breast cancer.

According to Kerbert, the blue-to-pink “make-over” was made possible with the help of such local businesses as Finksburg-based Mudgett’s Auto and Westminster-based Bare Truck Center

“Several people involved in the project have loved ones who have been impacted by breast cancer,” the release states.

Tevis Propane delivers propane and installs propane systems and hearth appliance throughout Baltimore, Carroll, and Howard Counties.
