Don your fishnets and stiletto heels and brush up on your “Time Warp” steps!  The Carroll Arts Center, 91 West Main St. will be hosting its annual screening of “Rocky Horror Picture Show” on Friday, Oct. 27 at 10 p.m.

The campy horror film initially flopped when it was released in 1975, but now claims to be the largest grossing movie that never received a wide release.  It has never quite faded away and has since grossed more than $140 million.  It has legions of followers and even has an official fan club, according to a Carroll Arts Center news release. 

The film features a young Susan Sarandon, Barry Bostwick and Tim Curry as the transvestite Dr. Frank N. Furter.   The plot begins with the misadventures of Brad Majors (Bostwick) and Janet Weiss (Sarandon) as they are stranded on a dark country road with a flat tire during a downpour.  The fun begins once they knock on the door of a creepy mansion hoping to use the phone.  Instead they find infidelity, love, hate, murder, music, mayhem and a rather kinky cast of characters. 

The evening will start with a Time Warp Refresher Course so everyone is ready to dance when the appropriate time comes in the film.  There will be wickedly decadent prizes for the best costumes and a few special surprises thanks to business sponsor Double Diamond Construction, according to the news release.

Tickets are $20 or $15 for CCAC Members.  The first 75 ticket purchasers will receive a free goody bag chock-full of all the props needed to fully experience this wild cinematic phenomenon.   Please note, outside “props” will not be permitted.  The film is rated R and runs 100 minutes. FLICC passes and other ticket discounts will not be accepted.
