Jan. 9 Board of Education Meeting

The Board of Education of Carroll County will hold its regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 9 at 5 p.m. The meeting will be held in the Charles I. Ecker Boardroom at the Board of Education offices, located at 125 North Court Street in Westminster. There will be time for citizen participation at this meeting. The public is encouraged to attend.

The agenda and back-up materials for the Board meeting will be available for review on BoardDocs, which may be accessed by visiting the school system's website at www.carrollk12.org and clicking on Board of Education Meeting Agenda and Documents on the home page.   

The meeting will be streamed live on the Carroll County Public Schools website at www.carrollk12.org and broadcast live on Channel 21.

Family Forum with Superintendent of Schools

Superintendent of Schools Stephen Guthrie will be the featured speaker at a Family Forum hosted by the parent guides of Carroll County Public Schools on Monday, January 7, 2013, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. The forum will be held in the Charles I. Ecker Boardroom at the Board of Education offices, located at 125 North Court Street in Westminster.        The topic of discussion will be “The Future of Carroll County Public Schools.” Light refreshments will be served. Child care and activities for children will be provided.

Joint Meeting of the Board of Education and Board of Commissioners

Please note that the joint meeting of the Board of Education and Board of County Commissioners scheduled for Jan. 9 at 1 p.m. has been rescheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 23, at 1:30 p.m. at the Board of Education offices. 

Schools Operating Budget Hearing Dates

The dates for public presentation, review, and input to the operating budget for the Carroll County Public School System for the 2013 - 2014 school year are as follows:  

• Wednesday, Jan. 9, 5 p.m.   Presentation of Superintendent’s Proposed FY 14 Budget during Board of Education Meeting – Charles I. Ecker Boardroom, Board of Education Offices   
• Wednesday, Jan. 23, 6 p.m. Public Hearing (with Citizen Participation) following 5 p.m. Board of Education Meeting – Charles I. Ecker Boardroom, Board of Education Offices, Board Work Session on the FY 14 Budget (no citizen participation) immediately following Public Hearing – Charles I. Ecker Boardroom, Board of Education Offices  
• Tuesday, Feb 5., 7 p.m. Public Hearing (with Citizen Participation) – South Carroll High School  
• Wednesday, Feb. 27, 1 p.m. Adoption of Board of Education’s Proposed FY 14 Budget during Board of Education meeting – Charles I. Ecker Boardroom, Board of Education Offices.
