Sheriff's Office Earns National Accreditation

The Sheriff's Office has earned it's third consecutive accreditation from a national organization.

The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office successfully completed the process for reaccreditation with the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc.

Accreditation is a voluntary process that includes a team of assessors examining all aspects of the Carroll County Sheriff's Office policy and procedures, management, operations and support services.

The award of Advanced Law Enforcement Accreditation is granted to agencies who are willing and able to demonstrate compliance with the commission’s standards, which are developed through intensive research as the “best practices” in law enforcement, according to a news release.

The Carroll County Sheriff's Department earned the awards in 2006 and 2009.

The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office next on-site evaluation will take place in the Spring of 2015, and preparations for that on-site evaluation have already begun, according to the Sheriff's department.
