Student Government Association to Host Board of Ed Candidate Forum

Only students will be allowed to attend the event, although it can be viewed on the school system's website or on cable tv.

The Carroll County Student Government Association will host a Board of Education candidate forum this evening, Thursday, Sept. 20 at 7 p.m. in the Charles I. Ecker Boardroom at the Board of Education offices, 125 North Court St. in Westminster.

Due to limited seating, the forum is open to students only according to a news release. Students who are interested in attending should contact Mrs. Nora Murray, Coordinator of Youth Development and Service-Learning, at chmurra@carrollk12.org.

All four candidates for Board of Education--Jennifer Seidel, Cynthia Foley, Jim Doolan and Ginger DiMaggio--have RSVP’d that they will participate according to Brenda Bower of Carroll County Public Schools.

The moderator will be Cole Holocker, president of the Carroll County Student Government Association. He is a senior at Century High School.

The forum will be broadcast live on channel 21 and streamed live on the Carroll County Public Schools website at www.carrollk12.org.
