Week Ahead in Weather: Brrrrr!

Here's a look at the week's forecast, courtesy of the National Weather Service.

Seems as if we've been asking 'where’s winter?' for some time now.

Well, it's here.

It’s going to be so cold this week that the National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a hazardous weather outlook. Add to that a winter storm that may be coming our way, and it looks like the cold season has arrived.

Today, the highs will be in the low-20s. The dry winter air coupled with wind gusts approaching 30 mph will also make for prime wildfire conditions, according to NWS. Temperatures will drop to the mid-teens tonight and the winds will persist.

Wednesday, temperatures will reach the high-20s. It should also be breezy, but not as severe as Monday. Temperatures will drop to the high-teens at night.

Thursday’s temperatures should reach the high-20s during the day, dropping to about 20 degrees at night.

There’s a 70 percent chance of freezing rain and sleet during the day Friday, with temperatures approaching 30 degrees, dropping close to 10 degrees at night.

Things are not expected to warm up over the weekend; according to NWS, Saturday and Sunday will have high temperatures in the mid-20s.
