Hey there! My name is Bogey, and I’m one sweet, gorgeous pup! I’m a three-year-old Mastiff mix and weigh about 100 pounds.  I have a beautiful greyish-brown coat and striking golden-brown eyes, and when I strut my stuff, I stride like a lion with regal grace. I was rescued from a MD shelter after my owners surrendered me because they were moving. That’s OK, I can do better... My previous owners didn’t really care for me and I spent a lot of time cooped up in a crate, but now I have a second chance to find a loving family and experience the world around me.

I have a pretty laid-back demeanor, and some would say I’m chill. I’m confident without being pushy, and really love to be around people. I am the kind of pup who wants to be your companion and will stay by your side. I may even lean into you to get your attention, or roll over on my back to get a belly rub. I’ll even give you kisses if you let me. I just want to be loved and cared for, and I will be your loyal companion in return.

I’m crate-trained and walk pretty well on a leash, but I’m a big, strong dog and will need a capable, assertive handler with some big dog experience to guide me. I’m starting to learn basic commands, and already know how to sit for a tasty treat. I’m working on “stay,” and am very food-motivated, so I’m easy to train and want to learn more.

I really just need a family who will invest some time in me, introduce me to new things, socialize me with other dogs, and expose me to new environments. I’m OK with other dogs, but have never had the opportunity to play with them and learn normal dog behavior. The good news is I have a great disposition, so I’m ahead of the curve and ready to go.

I’m probably not the best fit for a first time dog owner and I’m a little big for very small kids, as I don’t always realize my size and strength when I jump up to get your attention. I would fit best with a family with some large dog experience who will both love me and spend some time coaching and working with me to reach my full potential. I would also benefit from consistent walks and exercise to build up my stamina and keep me fit and healthy. I’m a smart pup and just need someone who can take charge and show me the ropes.

Bogey is one cool pup who deserves a special someone in his life.
