It’s been awhile since the Main Street Minute has been written.

You may remember reading this column, which highlighted the happenings of downtown Westminster, in another paper. In the time that has passed, downtown Westminster has continued to provide outstanding customer service, unique gifts, incredible food and an amazing hometown atmosphere. So here’s a blog to get you back in touch with all things downtown, which will now be called Main Street Matters.

Every Tuesday, look for this blog to get the scoop about new shops, new events, and new stuff that can only be found right here in Westminster. There are so many bright spots to visit on Main Street right here in Westminster! Unfortunately, the closing of many retail stores and others have turned downtown into done-town! I hope the empty store fronts fill up again with businesses for all to enjoy. I think this town should take a look at the fact that MANY places might want to extend their hours on weekends. Westminster shuts down too early! People only have the option of bars to "hang out" in- just a thought....
