Is it really Humane to have after hour drop boxes?

If you have ever used the after hour drop boxes or pens to get rid of an animal, have you ever thought of how frightened or scared these animals might be? Do you wonder about what the future holds for them?

After having a special person and a furr-ever home they get dumped into a scary world with other animals they don't know.  That is often times dark and unkempt.  If they are lucky they will be held a few days in hopes that you might change your mind and come back. Others will be euthanized if they are deamed unsocialized.

When those few days are up they then become the property of the Humane Society or Shelter.  They may or may not get a chance at a new life.  However, most Humane Societies and Shelters are so full of animals that the vast majority are PTS (as they call it Put To Sleep).

So think about it before you use that overnight box.  Perhaps if you have an issue with an animal it would be best to go during the day and talk to the professionals there.  They often times can offer help so you may keep your pet.
