October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and to help raise awareness for this and the 3rd annual American Cancer Society (ACS) Making Strides Against Cancer of Mount Airy event, ACS is holding a Paint The Town Pink event!
All local businesses and residents in Mount Airy and the surrounding counties are invited to participate in this contest, which will be judged by the Mayor of Mount Airy, Mr. Patrick Rockinberg.
WHAT:

Paint The Town Pink - Decorate your storefront or front yard in anything and everything PINK!
Winners will receive a special plaque to display (residential and business categories).

WHEN:
Oct. 1st – Oct. 31st Judging will be on Thurs, Oct. 17th. Winner will be announced at the Walk.
HOW:
E-mail pictures of your storefront or front yard to Jen Burdette at: Jen.Burdette@cancer.org no later than Wed, Oct. 16th. Include your name, address, phone number and any information about your decorations. There is no fee to enter the contest, however, donations are accepted.
WHY:
This event will be used to raise awareness for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, as well as the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk, which will take place on Sunday, October 20th, 2013 at Watkins Park.
