2013 Bike Fit, Bull, Oyster & Shrimp Roast, Tarzan and More in Carroll County this Weekend

2013 Bike Fit

  • Where:  Central Maryland Rehabilitation Services, 844 Washington Rd, Westminster
  • When:  Saturday, April 20, 10 a.m.
  • Description:  Central Maryland Rehabilitation Services will host the 2nd Annual Bike Fit in recognition of Occupational Therapy Month. Children are able to bring their own bikes or can use a bike on site. Local partners include Carroll County Safe Kids, Westminster Police Department, The Partnership for a Healthier Carroll County, and Race Pace Bicycles.  Stations will be set up that include a bike check provided by a bike mechanic, helmet fit and bike fit checks, safety and traffic laws along with 3 obstacle courses. Certificates will be provided at completion.

Past Times for Children presents Mills- A Big Part of Carroll County

  • Where:  Historical Society of Carroll County, 216 E Main St, Westminster
  • When:  Saturday, April 20, 10 a.m.
  • Description:  Children ages 4-7 will experience the mill and how it works from the book, The Little Red Hen.  They will create a wheat project.
  • Cost: $6

Reese Auxiliary Shrimp Feed

  • Where:  Reese & Community Volunteer Fire Company, 1745 Baltimore Blvd, Westminster
  • When:  Saturday, April 20, 5 p.m.
  • Description:  Steamed Shrimp, Fried Shrimp, Fried Chicken, Baked Beans, Salads, Cheese Tray, Chips, Pretzels, Cake, Beer and Soda and more will be available.
  • Cost: $25

Carroll's Kids

  • Where:  Carroll Nonprofit Center, 255 Clifton Blvd, Westminster
  • When: Saturday, April 20, 6:30 p.m.
  • Description:  Carroll's Kids is an annual fundraising event for Voices for Children of Carroll County (VFC). Carroll's Kids, showcases the creativity and inspiration of some of the county's high-school artists and crafters who have designed wooden cut-outs to be "adopted" (via silent auction) at this event.
  • Cost: Free

  • Where:  2030 S Pleasant Valley Rd, Westminster
  • When:  Saturday, April 20, 7 p.m.
  • Description:  Live music by Bootleg, silent and live auctions, pit beef, pit turkey, fried chicken, raw, steamed and fried oysters and more.  Beer, wine and soda included.  All proceeds go to the Westminster High School Instrumental Music Program.
  • Cost:  $40

Spring Hayride

  • Where: Stables, 452 E Main St, Westminster
  • When:  Sunday, April 21, 5 p.m.
  • Description:  Must be 21 years of age to enjoy this Stables Spring Hayride.
  • Cost: $15

Westminster Cat Show

  • Where:  Carroll County Agriculture Center, 706 Agricultural Center Dr, Westminster
  • When: Friday, April 19, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Saturday, April 20, 2 p.m. – 10 p.m.
  • Description:  All-breed and Household Pet Cat Show.
  • Cost: $6

Tarzan

  • Where:  Liberty High School, 5855 Bartholow Rd, Sykesville
  • When:  April 19th, 20th, April 25th, 26th , 27th  at 7pm. 
    Two matinees, Saturday April 20th and 27th at 2pm
  • Description:  The Liberty High School Drama Club presents Tarzan complete with ‘Cirque du Soleil’ style aerial dancing and music by Phil Collins.
  • Cost: $10 in advance / $12 at the door

Century High School's Bye Bye Birdie

  • Where:  Century High School Auditorium, 355 Ronsdale Rd, Sykesville
  • When:  April 11, 12, 13, 19, and 20, 2013 at 7 p.m. with a matinee on Saturday, April 13 at 2 p.m.
  • Description:  Century High School’s Drama Club presents Bye Bye Birdie.
  • Cost: $10
