Carnival, Bass Fishing Tournament, Pet Expo and More in Carroll County this Weekend

Taneytown Fire Company Carnival

• Where:  Taneytown Volunteer Fire Company, 39 East Baltimore Street, Taneytown
• When:  Monday, June 10 – Saturday, June 15
• Description:  Last weekend of the Taneytown Fire Company Carnival. Games, rides, food and more.
• Cost: Free

Images of the Civil War

• Where:  Carroll Arts Center, 91 West Main Street, Westminster
• When:  June 6 – Aug. 6
• Description:  An art exhibit featuring contemporary reflections on the Civil War. More than 100 artists are included in this display that reflects the lingering impact and emotions of this monumental historic event.
• Cost:  Free

Bass Fishing Tournament

• Where:  Piney Run Park, 30 Martz Rd. Sykesville
• When:  Saturday, June 15
• Description:  Cash prizes are given to the largest bass. Park gates Open at 5:30 am 6 am - Noon. PRE-REGISTRATION
• Cost:  Tournament fee is $15 per angler until 4 pm on Friday, June 14th. Day of Tournament Registration fee is $20 per angler; $8/boat launch fee applies for private boats; vehicle entrance fee is waived. Rental boats are available for $20 per boat.

Carroll County Farmers' Market "Opening Day"

• Where:  Carroll County Agriculture Center, 706 Agriculture Center Drive, Westminster
• When:  Saturday, June 15, 8 a.m. – 1 p.m.
• Description:  Fresh local produce in season, baked goods, eggs, honey, gourmet foods, jams and jellies, handmade crafts and more. Breakfast and lunch served.
• Cost: Free

Pet Expo

• Where:  706 Agriculture Center Drive, Westminster
• When:  Saturday, June 15, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
• Description:  Over 50 exhibitors, demonstrations, free seminars and contests. Leashed pets welcome.
• Cost:  $5

Hampstead Farmers' Market

• Where:  1341 North Main Street, Hampstead
• When:  Every Saturday 9 a.m. - noon, June - September
• Description:  Producer-only market offering locally grown, baked or produced items, from delicious seasonal produce to a wide variety of local artisan crafts and jewelry. 
• Cost: Free

Past Times for Children Present Schoolyard Games

• Where:  Historical Society of Carroll County, 216 E Main St, Westminster
• When:  Saturday, June 15, 10 a.m.
• Description:  Children will learn what types of games children played in the 1800's. They will play, sing, read and create a craft about this topic.  This class is for children ages 4 to 7.
• Cost:  $6

Camp Invention

• Where:  375 Ronsdale Rd, Sykesville
• When:  Saturday, June 15, 2013, 9:00 a.m.
