Don't Miss Main Street Shopping Under the Stars Friday

The tree is lit and Santa is waiting for visitors, be sure to check out the festive fun on Main Street Friday night.

Main Street Westminster will be festive and alive Friday night as stores stay open late and family-friendly holiday activities abound.

Main Street stores will be open until 10 p.m., with many restaurants and stores offering specials. Don't worry about having to walk from one end of Main Street to the other, hop on a horse-drawn carriage instead. Carriage rides are first-come, first-served and are free.

If you get the munchies along the way, stop in a local restaurant to grab a bite to eat or roast some marshmallows over the open fire at Locust Lane.

Don't forget to stop and take in the joy of the season. There will be live music at Locust Lane and stargazing on the lawn of the Westminster library.

Bring the kids along and visit Santa at his house on Locust Lane. If you'd rather shop without the kiddos, check out Parent's Night Out -- from 5 to 8:30, drop the kids at Santa's Workshop (cost is $16 for first child and $6 for additional children).

Check out starlight shopping on Main Street on Friday, Dec. 6 from 6 to 10 p.m. For more information visit www.westminstermd.gov
