It's Hot!, Education Opportunity Fund and Mercer Runs for Commissioner

Here's five things worth knowing to get through the day in Westminster.

1.) WEATHER » Heat and humidity will be high today. Temperatures will be in the mid- to upper-90s and humidity will range from 55 to 63 percent. There’s a chance for isolated showers and thunderstorms between 1 p.m. and 11 p.m. The evening temperatures will be in the mid-70s but humidity will jump to 78 percent. Children, people suffering from asthma, heart or lung diseases and the elderly should avoid strenuous outdoor activity. The National Weather Service’s code orange air quality alert, as well as its hazardous weather outlook, will still be in effect from yesterday.
