Moms all look like this, right? Wearing a fresh, fluffy white robe, getting their makeup and hair done by a team of experts. All while peacefully breastfeeding their child.
Umm...no. Many "regular" aka non-supermodel moms say this Instagram photo shared by supermodel Gisele Bündchen does not represent the reality of breastfeeding. Many new moms say they are lucky if they find time to get a daily shower.
Bündchen admits that she has a team of stylists who help her look as amazing as she does, in a story shared on our partner The Huffington Post. But she also reportedly said that “there should be a worldwide law...that mothers should breastfeed their babies for six months."
Whether women should breastfeed in public has been a topic of debate. In August, more than 130 moms nursed their children together in a cluster at the Annapolis Mall as part of a worldwide show of support for the Big Latch On event, Patch reported.
After Bündchen posted a photo on Instagram of her nursing her 1-year-old daughter Vivian while getting ready for a photo shoot, moms reacted. Some felt that it was a great example of a working mom still tending to her kids. Others felt it was simply an unrealistic look at what it means to be a working mother.
