The Holidays Officially Arrive on Main Street Westminster

The city's Christmas Tree was lit in front of a large crowd at Locust Lane Saturday evening.

Main Street Westminster was aglow with the holiday spirit Saturday night as the city officially kicked off the holiday season with an electric parade, Christmas tree lighting and Santa visits.

People lined Main Street to see the Holiday Electric Parade which kicked off at 5 p.m. Following the parade, Mayor Kevin Utz officially lit the Christmas Tree on Locust Lane, The Westminster Municipal Band played holiday music, and then kids swarmed to the library to partake in holiday games, warm cider and visits with Santa.

Santa will be available for visits at the Santa House on Locust Lane from noon to 4 p.m. on Dec. 1, 8, 15 and 22.
