Update: 2-Year-Old Injured in Tractor Accident Removed from 'Critical' Status

Although he still has an uphill battle ahead of him, 2-year-old Logan Barnett has been removed from "critical" status at Johns Hopkins Children's Hospital.

Ashley Barnett, mother of 2-year-old Logan Barnett who was critically injured in a tractor accident on April 21, reported earlier this week that Logan was taken off of "critical" status and moved from the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) to the Pediatric Care and Research Unit at Johns Hopkins Children's Hospital.

When Logan is healthy enough, he will be moved to Kennedy Krieger where he will begin intensive rehabilitation, she said.

This week Ashley reported on her Facebook page that Logan had a successful surgery to insert a feeding tube. She also said that MRI results suggest that Logan has "diffuse moderate brain damange" and he will likely have "significant disabilities".

But in a Facebook post on Wednesday, Ashley reported that she is seeing improvements in her son.

"First time I got to dress Logie in a whole outfit, holding onto Jake the pirate. I took this picture when he was looking at the tv when I put spongebob squarepants on, I think he was actually concentrating on it for a few seconds, was really neat to see his eyes open for that period of time:)," Ashely wrote in her post (see the attached photo).

There are numerous fundraisers happening around town in Logan's honor. Friends and family are working to create a fund to help Ashley and her husband, Edward, as they deal with medical costs, lost income and continued care for their other two children Lucas, 5, and Lorelai, 7 weeks.

A community Facebook page has been started to help keep people informed about Logan's progress and fundraising events. Visit the page to find out where to make donations and how to support the Barnett family.
