Winter Weather Advisory in Carroll County Tuesday

The National Weather Service warns that roads could be slippery Tuesday.

In anticipation on wintry weather, the National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a winter weather advisory for Tuesday from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.

NWS says to expect sleet and freezing rain throughout the day Tuesday. Precipitation will start between 6 and 8 a.m. as a brief period of snow and sleet then is expected to change to freezing rain by mid-morning Tuesday and will continue as freezing rain during the afternoon, NWS reports.

Accumulations of up to an inch of snow and sleet are expected by early Tuesday morning followed by around a tenth of an inch of freezing rain through Tuesday afternoon.

The combination of snow, sleet and freezing rain will make roads slippery Tuesday, according to NWS.

Temperatures will be in the low 20s Monday night and get up to the mid-30s during the day Tuesday.
