Y Healthy Kids Day 2013

  • Description:  The Y of Central Maryland will celebrate youth health in the U.S. with Healthy Kids Day 2013 on Saturday, April 27 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at all Family Center Y’s. Families and friends will enjoy a day of fun-filled activities that promote healthy living and activity. The event will include family fitness activities, healthy treats, face painting, a moon bounce and more. This FREE event is open to all community members.

Chesapeake Roller Derby vs. Love City

  • Where:  15500 Hanover Pike, Upperco
  • When:  Saturday, April 27, 4:30 p.m.
  • Description:  Chesapeake Roller Derby take on Philly's Love City at Sportsman's Hall in Upperco.
  • Cost: $10

reRun! 5K Walk or Run

  • Where:  Town Mall of Westminster, 400 N Center St, Westminster
  • When:  Saturday, April 27, 7 a.m.
  • Description:  2 non-profit organizations, reConnect, Inc. and the Westmisnter Rockets sponsor a 5K for runners and walkers with prizes.
  • Cost: $15

Basket & Bag Bingo

  • Where:  309 Buena Vista Dr, Westminster
  • When:  Saturday, April 27, 5 p.m.
  • Description:  Featuring: Longaberger, Thirty-One Bags, Coach and Vera Bradley.
  • Cost: $20

Tarzan

  • Where:  Liberty High School, 5855 Bartholow Rd, Sykesville
  • When:  April 25th, 26th, 27th at 7p.m.  Two matinees, Saturday April 20th and 27th at 2 p.m.
  • Description:  The Liberty High School Drama department presents a cirque du soleil style aerial dancing version of Tarzan.
  • Cost:  $10

Making Art Your Business: Reinvention = Success

  • Where:  1601 Washington Rd, Westminster
  • When:  Saturday, April 27, 8 a.m.
  • Description:  Half-day class teaches how to rebuild art based businesses.  Topics include: pricing artwork, time management for artists, managing artwork in a gallery, selling artwork online, the basics of starting an art business.
  • Cost: $39

Free Shred Event

  • Where:  Century High School, 355 Ronsdale Rd, Sykesville
  • When:  Saturday, April 27, 9 a.m.
  • Description:  Free Shredding provided as part of the SCBA Community Expo.
  • Cost:  Free

Mt. Airy Bi-Annual Yard Sale

  • Where:  Mount Airy Volunteer Fire Company Carnival Grounds, Rt. 27 and Twin Arch Rd.
  • When:  Saturday, April 27, 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. Rain or shine.
  • Description:  Over 200 booths of vendors, largest yard sale in the area.  Mt. Airy Lions Club will serve breakfast from 6 a.m. – 11 a.m. and lunch from 11 a.m. – closing.
  • Cost:  Free

Iron Ridge Bluegrass

  • Where: The Carroll Arts Center, 91 West Main Street, Westminster
  • When:  Saturday, April 27, 7 p.m. – 9 p.m.
  • Description:  Local bluegrass band, Iron Ridge to perform traditional bluegrass music including favorites from their 8th CD release, “Blue Sky Morning”.
  • Cost:  $15

Tractor Pull

  • Where: Carroll County Ag Center, 706 Agriculture Center Drive, Westminster
  • When:  Sunday, April 28, gates open at 7 a.m., farm stock 9 a.m., Interstate pullers 1 p.m.
  • Description:  Carroll County Ag Center Annual truck and tractor pull.
  • Cost:  $12 for adults, kids 8 and under free.
