5 Things: October Fun with Westminster Parks and Recreation

Daddy Daughter Date Night
Wednesday, Oct. 16 6-8:30 p.m.

Held at Martin's of Westminster (140 Village Shopping Center, 505 Jermor Lane), this years theme will be Sock Hop! Tickets are $43 per adult and $22 per child. Cost includes dinner, dancing, a 5x7 photo, door prizes and parting gifts. Daughters should be in grades K-8 only. PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED- tickets won't be sold at the door. Register here.

School is out... so the fun continues at Westminster City Recreation. School-aged kids will have fun filled day of games, crafts, movies and more at the facility at 11 Longwell Ave. The cost is $22 per child (9 a.m.-4 p.m.). Extended care (as early as 7 a.m. and/or as late as 6 p.m.) $11 per session, per child. Children will need sneakers, bagged lunch and water bottle.  Pre-registration is required, register here.

Trick Or Treat Trail
Oct. 26 3 to 6 p.m.

Enjoy the second annual Trick or Treat Trail at Wakefield Valley Community Trail on Tahoma Farm Road, off of Rte. 31. Trick or Treat with our vendors up the trail, take a hayride, and enjoy the day with Parks and Rec.  Call 410-848-9161 for details. This event is free and pre-registration is not required.

Spooky Sprint
Tuesday, Oct. 29 6:45 p.m.

Proceeds to benefit The Friends of Westminster City Recreation and Parks, a component fund of the Community Foundation of Carroll County. $10 entry fee if pre-registered. $15 entry fee day of the event. The walk/run will begin at the corner of Monroe Street and Pennsylvania Avenue. Please bring a non-perishable food item to benefit Carroll County Food Sunday. Halloween Parade
Tuesday, Oct. 29 7 p.m.

The annual Halloween parade in Historic Downtown Westminster is on Oct. 29. Registration begins at 6 p.m. on Monroe St. near Dutterer's Park. The parade begins at 7 p.m. via Pennsylvania Avenue to Main Street and ending on Longwell Avenue. This event is coordinated by the American Legion Post #31. Call 410-857-7953 for more information.
