Best-Selling Author Speaks About Latest Book at Carroll Arts Center

The author's first two works, "She's Come Undone"and "I Know This Much is True," were number one New York Times bestsellers and Oprah's Book Club selections.

The Carroll County Public Library and McDaniel College and collaborating to bring a best-selling author to Carroll County to discuss his latest novel.

Best-Selling Author Wally Lamb will speak at the Carroll Arts Center, 91 West Main St., on Friday, Oct. 25 at 7:30 p.m. He will discuss "We Are Water", his latest novel.

It is his first full-scale novel in five years, according to a news release.

"We are Water" is a probing exploration of contemporary themes, tempered with the wisdom and empathy that has marked all of this master storyteller’s work. Rooted in the world of a troubled family, and driven by riveting drama, this emotionally powerful novel explores childhood trauma, abuse, and family dynamics, as well as issues of class, race, and cultural inclusion, according to a news release.

Tickets are $20 and include a dessert reception and copy of the book.
