Westminster Weekends: Summer Picnic, Blues Festival, Musicals

·      When:  Saturday, July 13, 10 a.m.

·      Description:  Four Stages of continuous music such as C.J. CHENIER, LITTLE QUEENIE, BUCKWHEAT ZYDECO, MARGOT LEVERETT & the KLEZMER MOUNTAIN BOYS, EASTMAN STRING BAND, PAUL MCKENNA BAND (all the way from Scotland), and Grammy Nominee PROFESSOR LOUIE (from THE BAND) Music lovers are invited to come out for all day roots, Zydeco, and Blues music, dancing and much more. This year there will also be a beer & wine garden.

'Set Me Free' Book Signing

·      Where:  Eclecticity, 13 John Street, Westminster

·      When:  Saturday, July 13, 12 p.m.  

·      Description:  Baltimore author, Yeve G. Montgomery, will be on hand at Eclecticity signing her collection of short stories, micro fiction, and creative nonfiction.

·      Cost:  Free

19th Annual Month of Sundays Summer Concert Series

·      Where:  Westminster City Park, 11 Longwell Avenue, Westminster

·      When:  Sunday, July 14, 6:30 p.m.

·      Description:  The 19th Annual Month of Sundays FREE Concert Series. Music lovers are invited to rock out to Local Rock Band Problem Child.

·      Cost:  Free

Seussical the Musical

·      Where:  Liberty High School

·      When:  July 12, 13, 19, 20 at 7 p.m. and July 13, 14, 20 at 2 p.m.

·      Description:  This show is put on by TACTICC 
(The Arts Coming Together in Carroll County).  The cast and crew ranges from age 6 to over 50.  All are welcome to come enjoy a fun family-friendly musical.

·      Cost: $10 online at www.tacticc.org or $12/$14 at the door

Tunes Under the Main Street Moon

·      Where:  7547 Main Street, Sykesville

·      When:  Friday, July 12, 7 – 10 p.m.

·      Description:  Retail shops stay open until 10pm offering a variety of drinks and snacks. Live music in the Main Street gazebo. 

·      Cost: Free

Winfield Fire Company Carnival

·      Where:  Winfield Volunteer Fire Department, 1320 W. Old Liberty Rd., Sykesville

·      When:  July 8 – July 13

·      Description:  Rides, food, games and entertainment.

·      Cost: Free

Sykesville Cinema

·      Where:  South Branch Park, 350 W. Friendship Rd., Sykesville

·      When:  Saturday, July 13

·      Description:  Bring lawn chairs and enjoy a FREE movie under the stars! Concessions. Hotline 443-300-8724 for questionable weather conditions.

·      Cost:  Free

Live Music W/Mark Bray & The Steel Cowboys

·      Where:  452 E Main St, Westminster

·      When:  Friday, July 12, 9 p.m.

·      Description:  Country music and casual dining.

·      Cost: Free

131st Annual Picnic

·      Where:  Zion United Methodist Church, 2716 Old Washington Rd., Westminster

·      When:  Saturday, July 13, 8 a.m. – 8 p.m.

·      Description: Flea market, fried chicken platters and entertainment. There is a charge for the food.

·      Cost:  Free
