2011 Westminster Holiday Kickoff!

The City of Westminster Recreation and Parks Department are sponsoring the 2011 Westminster Holiday Kickoff featuring a Christmas Parade at 5 p.m. beginning at the corner of Monroe Street continuing on Pennsylvania Avenue and Main Street to Locust Lane for the Tree Lighting. The Christmas Tree Lighting will take place at 6 p.m. and includes music from the Westminster Municipal Band, caroling, holiday greetings from Mayor Kevin Utz, a visit from Santa and the lighting of the tree. The Gospel Spreading Church of God of Union Bridge will provide complimentary hot chocolate as well as baked goods available for purchase. After the tree lighting a winter carnival for ages 5-12 will take place inside the Armory building featuring games, crafts, face painting and more. Visit the website or call for more information.
