An Original British Panto Performance Adapted and Directed by Ira Domser, McDaniel Theatre Arts Professor

Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for seniors, students, and those with a McDaniel College ID.

McDaniel College celebrates the holiday season with an original British panto performance of Cinderella. This British holiday tradition based on a fairy tale or nursery rhyme combines audience participation with music, topical jokes, and slapstick comedy.

Performances are Friday, December 16, and Saturday, December 17, at 7 p.m., and Saturday, December 17, and Sunday, December 18, at 2 p.m. in WMC Alumni Hall at McDaniel College, 2 College Hill, Westminster, Md.

Adapted and directed by Ira Domser, McDaniel theatre arts professor, performers are theatre arts students at the college, including seniors Mae Alexander of Keymar, Md., and Eric Kneller of Eldersburg, Md., sophomores Kevin Anderson of Bethesda, Md., and Paul Griffin of Westminster, Md., and freshman Adrian Rowe of Edgewood, Md. The cast also features McDaniel alumni Britt Burr of Westminster, Md., Brady Eisenberg of Owings Mills, Md., Maggie Powell of Olean, N.Y., Katie Ridgway of Sykesville, Md., and Julia Williams of Myersville, Md.

According to Ira Domser, “We are creating a new take on this classic, familiar fairy tale by injecting a bit of Vaudeville sensibility, contemporary references and audience participation. The whole family will love this panto-style performance, which combines the slapstick comedy of Commedia dell’Arte with the clever humor of Benny Hill and Monty Python’s ‘Flying Circus.’”
