The Shakespeare Factory Players (SFP) are here to kick off the holiday season with another fun and fast paced production! From Dec. 2nd to Dec. 11th audiences can enjoy some of Shakespeare’s most beloved characters in his comedy masterpiece,Twelfth Night. Since 2008 SFP has performed at over a dozen area venues, re-connecting modern audiences to Shakespeare through the use of classical staging conventions. Universal lighting, audience interaction, and contemporary music illuminate Shakespeare’s work in a whole new way for a whole new audience. Viewers of all ages and backgrounds can enjoy this production WITHOUT FEAR! SFP encourages audience members to join us 30 minutes prior to Curtain for Pre-show entertainment.

This performance is an “Ensemble Experiment” for SFP. Actors received their scripts several months ago and were responsible for text work and memorization BEFORE rehearsals began. They joined together for 1 week of rehearsals prior to the opening of the show (18 hours of rehearsal total.) The Actors were responsible for all directing their own scenes, choosing costumes, music, etc. This is the epitome of Shakespearean Staging Conventions as the modern position of “Director” did not exist. In order to meet the demands of their audience (and earn a living) actors had to produce new works quickly and often!

For added fun we are arming our audience with stress ball tomatoes to hurl at actors who forget their lines!
