Book Signing and Artist Talk

The Hampstead Arthouse1216 North Main St, Hampstead; 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Nuts & Bolts: Book signing and artist talk by Michael Barbour, a local author of four books including Kenai Catastrophe and Blue Water, Blue Island. Artist Talk at 8 p.m.: How to Use Your Career to Become a Writer. Light fare and wine available. This is a free event.

Belly Dancers and Break Dancers
When/WhereBirdie's Cafe, 233 E. Main St., 3:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.

"The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" Showing at Arts Center
When/Where: The Carroll Arts Center, 91 West Main St., showings at 1:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
Nuts & Bolts: FLICC’s Foreign Film Festival closes at the Carroll Arts Center on Friday with two showings of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.”  Tickets are$6 for adults; $5 for Arts Council members and seniors 60 years & over; and free for McDaniel College students with ID. PLEASE NOTE: No one under the age of 17 will be admitted to the festival without a parent, as all of the films are rated R. Call (410) 848-7272 for more information.

Bull Roast to Benefit Westminster High School Athletics
When/Where: Pleasant Valley Fire Department, begins at 7:30 p.m.
Nuts & Bolts: Food will include pit beef, ham, steamed shrimp, Italian sausage, fried chicken, shrimp creole, sheet cakes, beer, wine and sodas. There will also be a silent auction and DJ Entertainment provided by Mitch Warner. For Tickets: Contact Beth Nave at 410-857-9363 or email at (evynave@comcast.net) or Dine Mongold at 410-751-3630. Proceeds will be used to support the Westminster High School Athletic Department. Cost $35 per person.

International Bull Riders Top 30 Finals
When/Where: Carroll County Ag Center, Shipley Arena; doors open at 5 p.m., show starts at 7 p.m.
Nuts & Bolts: Top IBR bull riders will battle for final standings. Food and drink will be available for purchase and there will be a free Little Wrangler Rodeo for kids. Cost for adults is $15 and children 6-12 years old is $8. Children under 6 get in for free. Cash sales only. 

And it's not exactly this weekend, but it's something to put on the calendar nonetheless.

Grand Opening of Eclecticity 
When/Where: Eclecticity, 13 John Street, Tuesday, March 1st, from noon to 7 p.m. 
Nuts & Bolts: Eclecticity features visual arts and fine crafts from local artists and beyond; used books and local author’s works; local musician’s cds, used cds and dvds...and more. Musical entertainment for the opening will be provided by Tim Jenkins and Gabriel & Nathan.
