Something for Everyone at Carroll Arts Council

Patch has compiled a list of upcoming events at the Carroll Arts Center.

The Carroll Arts Center is always a busy place and it's no different in the summer months. With a host of creative camps for children, art displays, shows and summer movies, there is always something to get into. 

Please note that the Carroll Arts Council will be closed July 2 through July 4 for the Independence Day holiday, and will re-open on July 5. 

Free Family Movies

The Arts Center is the place to be on Tuesday evenings this summer if you have kids. At 7 p.m. (doors open at 6:30 p.m.) on Tuesdays through August 9, families can enjoy a free movie in the Arts Center theatre. Seating is on a first-come, first served basis and concession sales will benefit the Carroll Arts Center Scholarship Fund.

  • July 5: How to Train Your Dragon (Rated PG, 98 minutes, 2010) will be sponsored by Rhoten's Printing
  • July 12: Lassie (Rated PG, 92 minutes, 1994) will be sponsored by Mariah Belle Pet Care
  • July 19: Ella Enchanted (Rated PG, 95 minutes, 2003) will be sponsored by Speech Pathways (to be screened with open captioning)
  • July 26: The Muppet Movie (Rated PG, 95 minutes, 2003) will be sponsored by Montessori School of Westminster
  • August 2: The Secret of Nimh (Rated PG, 82 minutes, 1982) will be sponsored by the Pottery Loft
  • August 9: Back to the Future (Rated PG, 115 minutes, 1985) will be sponsored by Harry's Main Street Grille

  • Three Jolly Coachmen will perform on Saturday, July 9 at 7:30 p.m. The Williamsburg, Virginia based tribute band plays tunes from the folk band The Kingston Trio. Tickets are $20 for adults and $17 for CCAC members, students and seniors.  

Film

  • On Friday, July 8 at 7:30 p.m., Film Lovers in Carroll County (FLICC) will present the movie Walk the Line with Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon. Tickets are $6 for adults and $5 for CCAC members, students and seniors. 

Art Shows

  • Painters of the Carroll County Artists Guild present their vision of an artistic tour through the four seasons of nature with their work displayed in the Arts Center's Community Gallery. The art show will run through July 30.
  • Six artist's work will be on display in The Art is Inside You show in the Community Gallery through August. 13.
