Carroll Child Care Center Elects New Officers

Carroll County's longest running child care program adds new names to its roster of officers.

There will be some new faces representing Carroll Child Care Centers, the county's longest-running child care service provider according to a news release. The organization's website reports that the program was founded in January 1969 as the Carroll County Committee for the Day Care of Children at St. Paul's United Church of Christ.

The Board of Directors of Carroll Child Care Centers recently elected new officers.  Serving terms through June 30, 2013, are:

  • Kelly Hill, Chairman of the Board, is a prominent civic leader who holds current volunteer leadership positions with the Carroll Hospital Center Auxiliary, the Carroll Community College Foundation, Access Carroll and Shiloh United Methodist Church.
  • Joseph Cimino, Chairman-Elect, is a retired banker and former non-profit executive whose broadcast quality voice is heard in radio and television commercials.
  • Sandra Bertamini, Immediate Past Chairman, is admissions and marketing director, and clinical liaison, for Transitions Healthcare, in Sykesville.
  • Robert Dunn, Treasurer, owns Robert J. Dunn Associates, a human resources and leadership consulting business in Westminster.
  • Jason Chalk, Secretary, is an assistant vice president with T. Rowe Price, in Owings Mills.

Elected Center board directors are:

  • Tarhy Alford, Barnes-Bollinger Insurance Services of Westminster
  • Matthew Keefer, Gorfine Schiller & Gardyn, PA, of Owings Mills
  • Jackie Finch, retired child development specialist & licensing coordinator for the Carroll County Health Department
  • David Flora, Retired teacher, Carroll County Public Schools
  • Robin Kable, the former coordinator of business partnerships for Carroll County Public Schools is a former member of the Board of the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce, former volunteer leader of the West Side Community Organization in Westminster, and founder of Citizens for Schools
  • Barbara McDonald, New Windsor State Bank vice president and branch manager
  • Libby Trostle, Carroll Community College director of career training
  • Lisa Watkins, PNC Bank vice president of sales & service support manager

Carroll Child Care Center has held a State or National accreditation credential continuously for more than 40 years according to its website. The Center holds an additional MSDE credential, recognizing staff professionalism, at the highest level attainable, according to a news release.
