According to a hospital news release, the Carroll Hospital Center Foundation chose to name the Tevis Center for Wellness to honor Mr. and Mrs. Tevis’ long-term support of both the hospital and the foundation. Mr. Tevis is a former chairman of the Carroll Hospital Center Foundation’s Board of Trustees and member of Carroll Hospital Center’s Board of Directors. He was also chairman of “Fulfilling the Promise,” a previous hospital fundraising campaign that secured more than $10 million from the community between 2001 and 2003 to construct a new emergency department, five-story inpatient bed tower, outpatient center and the Carroll Hospice inpatient facility.

In addition to the Tevis Center for Wellness, funds donated through the “Campaign to Cure and Comfort, Always” will also support a new state-of-the-art cancer center to be constructed at Carroll Hospital Center; expanded cardiovascular and stroke services; upgrades in medical and communications technology, and an endowment fund for Carroll Hospice.
