From a news release:

Tomlin Technology, a Westminster-based IT Company that specializes in small business network management and residential computer repair, recently hosted a night of computer demonstrations and education for local second grade Cub Scout Pack 631. The event consisted of the disassembly of a computer, lessons on computer networking and questions from the Scouts.

Employee Zack Russo opened up a computer and showed the Scouts the important parts. Russo said, “Compared to when we were growing up, the understanding these kids have with technology is simply amazing.” As he described each component, the Scouts were quick to say what they already knew about them.

Pack Organizer Karie Hadley first contacted Tomlin Technology to request a tour so that the Scouts could fulfill their computer elective requirements.

“We had a wonderful time,” said Hadley. “The boys were very excited to learn about computers, networking, and video surveillance and how it relates to their own experiences.”

Owner Zach Tomlin is proud that his company had the opportunity to host the Scouts. “As a small business owner I think it's important to be involved in the community,” he said.

Tomlin Technology looks forward to future opportunities to give back to the community and help local groups learn about computers.

If your non-profit organization, school or community group is interested in a future event with Tomlin Technology, they can be reached via email at info@tomlintech.com or by phone at (410) 861-6278.
