Spicing Up the Business Landscape in Carroll County: Fuchs North America to Relocate to Hampstead

One of the country's leading food seasoning manufacturers has announced that it is moving its headquarters from Owings Mills to Hampstead. 

The Board of Carroll County Commissioners announced Monday that Fuchs North America, part of the Worldwide Fuchs Group since 1990, will be relocating to the North Carroll Business Park in Hampstead. 

What started in 1939 as Baltimore Spice, Inc., Fuchs North America has been headquarted in Owings Mills since 1959, according to the company's website. Steady growth has led the company to seek out a larger facility in which they can continue to expand. 

“Our success in growing the company into one of the leading developers of seasonings in the food industry has necessitated this move,” said Fuchs North America CEO, Dan Cooper. “Relocating to a new, upgraded facility will allow us to continue that progress and position ourselves for future growth opportunities, creating more jobs in the process."

The company will purchase about 20 acres of land at the North Carroll Business Park in Hampstead, according to the Carroll County's Economic Development Department. Construction plans call for more than 200,000 square feet to house Fuchs’ corporate headquarters including their new R&D and Culinary Center, state-of-the-art production facility, and QC and testing labs.

The company currently employs 168 people in the Baltimore area, according to a news release.

Haven Shoemaker, District 2 Carroll County Commissioner said in a statement, “I welcome Fuchs North America to Carroll County and to the Town of Hampstead. Fuchs represents a significant success for our County in terms of creating quality manufacturing jobs for our residents."
