Two of Alfred Hitchcocks suspenseful and haunting films will grace the screen at the Carroll Arts Center. On Oct. 29 at 7 p.m. the movie "Rearwindow" will begin and unfold the story of a wheelchair bound photojournalist and his fiancee as they spy on their neighbors while trying to solve a brutal murder. The film is rated PG and after a brief intermission will be followed by the movie "The Birds" which is unrated and used thousands of live birds to create haunting effects.

The River Valley Ranch located in Manchester is hosting a Costume Contest Fun Day on Saturday, Oct. 29 at 2 p.m. for ages 12 and under. The Ranch opens at 12 p.m. and features a six-acre corn maze, pony express challenge, pumpkin patch, food concessions, pony rides, hay rides, corn box, moon bounce, obstacle course, corn canon and more.
